tastes like freedom

Mmmm. We finally got our hands on some Ben and Jerry's Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream ice cream yesterday, and it's everything I expected. You can't go wrong with waffle chunks. This now ranks among my favorite ice creams, and I feel doubly satisfied since by purchasing it I'm also contributing to environmentally sound cow-raising and supporting some disadvantaged children somewhere (who knew that Colbert was one for charity?).

Does anyone know who still uses the terms "freezer case" and "refrigerator case" besides Colbert? I mean, wasn't that so two centuries ago? Or are they regional idioms?

I am dealing with painful stiffness in my upper back today, which is no fun when I have two tests to study for and three papers to begin. I've made ample use of the acetaminophen and an electric masseuse, to no avail. Still, I'm studying enough to make time for the Final Four tonight and the Cardinals home opener tomorrow night. Can't believe it's baseball season already! Heidi saw a game showing on TV the other day, and her heart literally leapt. The boys of summer make us happy, if only because it means summer is just around the corner.

Laura, I know a few things about back pain. Wedge your butt on the floor and next to a wall. Your back should be on the floor and your legs straight up the wall. Relax for five minutes in this position.

I saw a preview for "Blades of Glory" and I thought of my sisters.

Speaking of Blades of Glory, I have to admit that I am getting kind of tired of Jon Heder. I mean, a brilliant role in a cult classic is one thing, but repeated appearances in witless comedies is another. If Heder keeps playing the clueless nerd, we begin to think that such is all there really is to him, and that is no fun at all. It means we were duped into thinking he was an actor in the first place. Anyway, end rant. I probably will see Blades of Glory after all this, simply because the trailer contained brief glimpses of Gob Bluth. What's with Will Ferrel and the Arrested Development connection these days?

On second thought, I think the trailer fulfills my Arrested Development cameo fix. I don't feel like suffering through the rest of the film for a few seconds of Gob.

It's interesting to think about how prolific Will Ferrell is and yet we are not tired of him. Or at least I'm not. Maybe some people are. He does tend to play the same type of character in every movie (Stranger Than Fiction excepted). If only Jon Heder had that ability.

That said, I've been looking forward to Blades of Glory for quite some time simply because the Wills Ferrell and Arnett are in it, and I plan to see it...when it comes out on DVD.

From what I've read, Gob gets more than a few seconds of airtime. Apparently, he and Amy Poehler (his wife) upstage the main characters throughout the movie.

Thanks, Dave, for the advice. I'll try it. If I was in Chatty, I would go see the movie with you.
